Hello,
It seems that the more I read the docs the less I understand why I can't
change the default file output from .bmp to .tga I am using v3.01 and
have inserted the option:
"Output_File_Type=+FT" in the POVRAY.ini and a few others along with
different file types. However, every render comes out .bmp or I get an
error warning "unrecognized something something"... I know I am doing
something incredibly stupid, but Ican't seem to figure out what. Anyone
shed some light for this blindman?

Try "Output_File_Type=T" in the povray.ini file, or "+ft" on the
command line.

Thank You! I knew it was something easy but I just wasn't getting it.

You can just put "+ft" in the .ini file as well (usually I put just those
short versions because they are easier to remember).
