Grrr, cursed computers. My sanity lies in tatters after losing my IRTC
entry to another HD failure. Damn. Why don't I learn?
I'm sure I can knock another one out in the 1/2 month we have left. Not.
Graham.

One way to try to prevent harddrive failures is to use the S.M.A.R.T.
capabilities of most modern harddrives. Visit

I always have a diskette where I make daily backups of any work in
progress. Hence, two copies, one on my hard-drive, and one in my pocket.
Either way, backups of any kind are always recommended.

I hate to saw the obvious but you need to get something
repaired. And Zip drives are down to around $100 internal
regardless of your opinion of them. Only a few bucks more for one
to run off of your printer port making it immune from any
problems with your hard drive. They are more than fast enough to
host the entire POV process if you like.
Now if you price your POV labor at $5/hr ...
