Hi folks!
After more than a year, the new version of the Arabeske pattern design
tool is available at this location:
http://www.geocities.com/Vienna/7709/ara_welcome.html
Arabeske is a Java tool aimed at drawing repetitive geometrical
patterns, which can be used as WWW page backdrops or material_maps in
POVRay. You can get an example of picture using it here:
http://www.geocities.com/Vienna/7709/ima_1001.jpg
This is 0.9e, not yet 1.0... but it is far better than 0.9d, thanks to
constructive comments issued by users, so jump to the page to see how it
works! One of the (many) benefits of this version is that 90% of the
operations can be done without these coordinates. If everything goes
well, a full-featured GUI will suppress all the mundane coordinates
problems in version 1.0, expected in spring 99.
It is absolutely free, released under the Gnu Public Licence. Please
send comments, ideas, bug reports, and do not hesitate to hack the code!
Happy POVing.
