I have a Problem with the 3.1 Beta, it sometimes crashes during rendering,
but it is not the fault of the scene, because when i reopened Povray, and
render the same File with the same options there is no crash.
The crash also happend when rendering an Animation, in one of the later
Frames.
I don't have the Problems under Version 3.0.

I have had this problem, too. After rendering the same scene about half a
dozen times, PVEngine will crash. Restart it, and you get another half-dozen
tries before it crashes again. If a stack traceback, register dump, or other
debugging information would be helpful, I can make it crash again and get the
required information.

Speaking of making POV crash, I can make 3.1b4 crash repeatably when I stop a
render and attempt to clear the message window by right-clicking on the small
part of the message window visible below the editor pane. The error is:

  Application Error

Exception EInvalidOperation in module EDITDLL.DLL at 0001403A.
Control 'Editor1' has no parent window.

If I then press the OK button, it terminates PVEngine. When I restart
PVEngine, I get an access violation (NT STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION, Win95
probably calls it an Exception 0D) at PVENGINE!AUTO+2D6E4. If I ignore
the error, it fixes itself and goes on.

Since the editor in the beta version isn't the same as the one in the final
version, it probably isn't a problem, but someone should take a look at it
just in case. For what it's worth, the problem did not exist in 3.02.

The DOS version hasn't that problem, so it should be due specifically
to the Win version.

Cheers,
Fabien.

The DOS version can't have that problem, because it exits after each render.
