Hello fellow POVs (Persitors Of Vision),
I've been enjoying the newly discovered pov server and was wondering how
I get posting access to cgrr (comp.graphics.rendering.raytracing)?
Thanks and may your rays always be as quick as real ones! :-)

Unlike the povray.* heirarchy, which only exists on news.povray.org,
the comp.graphics.* heirarchy is widely distributed. You should be
able to find cgrr on whatever other news server you use normally; if
you don't know what that is, contact your ISP. If your ISP doesn't
carry cgrr, ask them to start, or find a commercial news provider like
Zippo or Supernews who does.

Hello,
news.povray.org does carry cgrr but I have read-only access (e.g. I can read
the posts but not send or reply), do I have to e-mail someone or something a
subscription request?
Thanks,
John "Rayhead" Thile

That was my point. NOBODY has posting access, because you're supposed
to be able to get it from your regular provider. If you can't, you'll
have to buy it from Supernews or Zippo or one of the other such
companies.

What these guys are trying to say is, when you access C.G.R.R. from
news.povray.org you will not be able to post to C.G.R.R.. It is a read only
group when accessed via news.povray.org.
If, however, you access c.g.r.r. through your normal news service, you
will be able to post there.
Good luck. ;)
