The Macintosh source code has a line that was accidentally left
uncommented. If this line is commented and POV is recompiled, the
problem dissappears.
The line is in PovMacInit.h, line 71

Thank you Chris. Unfortunately I don't have a C or C++ compiler. I think
I'll be forced to take some pov-ray holidays.

You can get it back by setting the clock back, and according to
Thorsten, a fixed version will be made available very soon.
