Hi team,
looking for a while on how to make a realistic stone texture, I'm quite
lost and confused in the textures seetings of POVray. I've tried with
some bumps, or crackle but I'm quit unhappy with the results.
Does anyone of you have nice stone texture that looks like clear
limestone (not full white, but somewhat like rgb < 0.980, 0.925, 0.713>)
or some tips for me to search the best direction ?
Thanks for any help ;-)
Cheers,
ALeX

Alex,
I'd start with a photo, if you can find one, of the stone you're trying to
match. Then, start playing with layered textures to see if you can
duplicate it. It's a very tedious trial and error process to match
something specific. Here's an example of layered texturing for stone
effect. See picture in bin.images. Try changing the colors of the base
texture and transparent overlay to match the colors you like.
