Hi All,

I have seen a couple of requests in various groups on this server for a method for
placing different textures on opposite sides of an object. The attached file contains
a macro that puts 6 different textures on the six sides of a cube and a demonstration
of its use. It's good fun if you put an image map on each side.

If you just want two sides, scale the texture so it is very small along the direction
normal to the sides and the edges will virtually disappear.

Enjoy!!

Regards
Gordon

As a pov user these are handy. For those people that like cutesy graphic
novelty items these are a huge success. I have made several for friends
to display wedding pictures, kids, babies, vacation shots, and then I
animate the box with an axial tilt. Turn it into a .mpg or .avi and
they can be used with the type of screen savers that will call your
animation files. They have been a really big hit and I keep getting
repeat orders. I should start charging for the service.

I made one once that had 6 cubes. I mapped four images per side with
none on the top or bottom. I then stacked three together to make two
columns left and right. When animated the top and bottom box revolved
in the same directions and the center was rotated counter to those.
The left right columns were in reverse order in reference to each other.
This gives a really nice way to display 24 different images at one time
without taking up a lot of disck space. The woman love it for displaying
the kids, family, and pictures of those stupid furball cat things.

Yeah, I had a good time just putting my favourite renders on the sides and spinning
them around. The macro is just to make it easy to put any textures the sides.
