This is something I put together inspired by a sculpture called "Tree of Life"
that I saw in Budapest a few years back.  It's not a replica, just some thoughts
on what it might look like in a museum setting, complete with museum lighting,
and a roped-off platform.

Surprisingly, even with hundreds of reflective leaves, and the semi-reflective
tree trunk and floor, the render with mild radiosity settings and antialising
only took 9 hours.

Interesting. Are there names / writing on the leaves in your image? To 
my eyes looks like some might have text, but maybe it's an artifact of 
the reflections?

That would actually be a really cool idea, but no, those are some texture I
introduced.  You can see it in the test image attached.
