Here's the final rendering of the holiday scene. For reasons I am still trying
to comprehend, with minor changes to the scene, plus remembering to allow
radiosity to interact with media, (which causes the string of lights on the bar
to actually have an effect!), the render time dropped from 3d 17h, to 2d 23h.
Plus, I set the max worker threads to only 8, as opposed to the max of 20 on
this machine because I needed to use it for something else as well.

fwiw, when using the 'nice' utility under Linux etc, I too see some (small)
benefit, and agree, good to (p)reserve some resources. and thanks, for that
nice seasonal "card".
