Flies surrounding a sink drain.
Sorry if this gets posted twice. I didn't see it upload. Please delete if so.
I also posted the scene file for this image. Feel free to use.
Mike.

You are exciting as usual, flies looks very natural, they are even with
hair ! I will make animation in one-two days ...
Don't you think that some bumping/texturing on the eye (see attached
photo) cam make them little bit more realistic ?

Thanks, the reference I was using showed the eye fairly smooth...it may depend
on the species/age? not sure. I'll try a different bump when I re-model the
nose/mouth area.

Yes, maybe, we have a lot of flies around :)
While preparing a scene for animation I found a strange object that
can't identify to hide it (attached). Could you please point me to it in
the scene file ?

Sorry about that,
in the head declare (fly.inc) the 11th blob needs to be removed or rem'd out.
I must have had it selected when I exported the form from Blender.
Thanks for catching that.
Mike.
#declare head =
//sphere{ <0,0,0>, 1, 1 scale <1.000, 1.000, 1.000> * sf translate <0.000,
0.000, 0.000> }

Ahh, I just noticed 2 negative scaled blobs in the head definition.
>> scale <-3.192, -3.586, -4.171>. They need to be positive for the 'populate' macro
to plant hair on those surface co
rrectly. POV renders negative scale fine - I use it to mirror object, but the 'trace'
function will return the reversed
-inside surface normal.
Sorry about that. It's easy to scale small objects in Blender in the negative
direction if you're not careful.

Thanks for info, I've fixed all this stuff, now the most tricky part
remains - lighting.
