Almost the same image as before, but zoomed in a bit, and with two subtle
improvements.
Firstly, all balconies adjacent to walls now have at least one doorway opening
onto them. There will be only one door per contiguous row of wall-balcony pairs,
but doorways may still neighbour one another around corners.
Secondly, detailing to the roofs: a very simple tile-like relief pattern. This
is something of an illusion - there are no discrete tiles, only serrated
triangular faces, serrated cylinders on the edges and plain cylinders along the
apices.

It has probably been said already before: This project has a very strong
Escher flavour, and that is underscored by the Italian/Mediterranean
style of the building which Escher also favoured. I love it!

Very effective visually. I did a similar visual trick with roofs in my
Gancaloon project, using a cells pattern where each cell was a slightly
different colour, scanned from Mediterranean tiles.

Yes, I am continually inspired and influenced by Escher's work. It's also a
matter of practicality: this style of architecture is much easier to generate,
and much cleaner to render. I wonder if Escher himself was drawn to such styles
for similar reasons (especially his early landscape work in Italy).

Quite possibly. I need to dig up my book on Escher to check. It seems to
be hiding somewhere...

I expect it's hidden inside your book on Escher ;)

Those roofs are spot on. Good enough when viewed from some distance.
