PS. My point being, I don't really get it why to use any older versions of POV
when the latest stable build works just fine.

before my time 2.2

stereo camera, motion blur, glow in 3.7?
compatible with what already exists?
make you put files where you dont want them?
and when F1 failed here, I'd had enough its antics.

enchantment missing, buried in issues.
hollow empty feeling.
delicacy of sensibility that progress becomes.

batch files run post image commands. but there were changes in OS upgrades that
failed previous work.

even pvengine wont shell in win7. That is not its fault. good thing for batch
files to save the day. but the console will, yea.

or lets just delete the past.
apparently for good reason that previous versions stick around.

Well of course, if you're after some deeper testings and/or looking for rather
experimental features in unofficial patches, then the older versions can be good
to have at hands if something is not available or fails with the latest official
release.

Personally as an artist and not eg. a tester I'm fine with the latest one and
hoping for more features to come with possible new official builds.

speak for yourself

I been hoping for some things in others,
perhaps I have become cynical from experience, and dont expect much from "them"
whoever "they" are.

DIY or go without.

oh youre an artist" and I am only a "tester" wtf?
been hoping people will check their ego at the door, yeah that will happen when
hell freezes over.

lets see your ego-less art, Mr. Arteest
I been showing my work, "look and you can see what I am about" I see jealous
people. they just want to mess with you.

I see what youre about ... doh, ignore button, not a helpful voice

oh dear. bad day, out of tune, Melody? (irresistible ;-))

fwiw, "DIY or go without" does ring true.

ime people coming here enjoy the "getting away" from RL stress, and the usual
interweb stuff ("like" buttons, kill files, the whole competitive discord in
general) tends to be left at the door step, so to speak[*]. think .. oasis.

[*] and _if_ a slight had been intended, I'm fairly certain it would have been
made very explicit. :-)

(btw, if you haven't already, check out the various "Rooster" in-game images
posted)

regards, jr.

You are naturally allowed your own path in everything. No one here has denied
that from you. Many here in our POV community are DIY people more or less
anyway.

Hold on a second. Nowhere I have called you a "tester". Nowhere I have looked
down on you nor seen myself above anyone else here. My intention was never to
criticize you or your choices. I don't even know you at all. What I wrote there
earlier was only some random thoughts. :O

I honestly don't have a clue where you suddenly get this kind of aggression
from. :O Also I can't understand where you're seeing any kind of ego or
jealousness matters in anything I said. My intention was never to insult in any
way. My deepest apologies if you took it that way. I am not about anything here
against anyone. I'm just one humble POV enthusiast among others here in this
news group, nothing else.

Peace.

A couple of thoughts I'd like to add just in case.

It's important to notice that this is an international community. English is not
the mother tongue for many of us. Weird choices of words can and will happen. If
something looks odd or even inappropriate, then the correct reaction is to ask
what it is about, instead of for example going full rampage and enter the ignore
mode only because of a simple misunderstanding that could easily be dealt with.

Throughout the years, POV news group has been the nicest, warmest, most mature
and most encouraging environment in this whole thing called the internet. This
has never been a place for unnecessary quarrel, flamewar or other negative ways
of communication. We are all adult people here enjoying our peace and harmony
and doing stuff we like, that is POVing. Let's not disturb any of that, shall
we.

For what its worth, see this post fro 2012:
https://news.povray.org/povray.binaries.images/thread/%3C5096685b%40news.povray.org%3E/?ttop=428926&toff=1150

where is described a way to do motion blur in version 3.7

The problem with your use of version 3.6 is that you miss out all the
/major/ and /important/ improvements introduced by Clipka in version
3.7. I doubt that many people will go back to an older version just for
a few secundary (I did use them myself!) features. Otherwise, to be
honest, I do not recognise your problems with original POV-Ray files in
win7 or win10. And, I mentioned it earlier, the best and most up-to-date
docs are in the wiki page.

Just my two cents.

Indeed. Never interpret/infer the meaning of a text or email.
I was informed that Portugese(?) spanish and Mexican/SouthAmerican spanish use
exactly the opposite words for [some] polite/formal and vulgar terms and
phrases.
Which as one can imagine can lead to some pretty awkward encounters.

A good start, and wise advice.

_Just_ to play Devil's advocate, and widen the penumbra of illumination:

a. You're assuming everyone who clicks "reply" IS an adult.
b. There are _adults_, and there are people over 18 that have failed to, and
may never mature.
c. There are people who are afflicted with various things such as bipolar, BPD,
narcissism, schizophrenia, PTSD, and any number of CNS conditions.

I've experienced first hand all manner of variations on the above theme, and
have personally met people who - if you read about their disturbing conduct in
an international news report - you'd cringe. You _never_ know who might be
sitting right next to you at a dinner table or renting a room in your very own
house. Not kidding. Like the Devil's minions themselves.

on the flipside, some sugar to help wash down that bitter pill of Truth:

an afterthought. Eat the delicious food. Walk in the sunshine. Jump in the
