I've only read about these sad news just now.

I think it would be fitting if I contact Mrs. Lohmüller. Not only as a
German member of the POV-Ray dev team, but also as someone who has lost
two close relatives myself in the past year.

I'll try to contact her by snail mail, hoping that the address is still
up to date.

O.k., that's a good idea! As a member of the POV-Ray development team, 
you certainly are better suited to do this task than a (relative) 
outsider like me!

Will you let us know of the results of your efforts?
