Hi,

This is the final version of this image, I feel like I could go on adding
details to this scene for a while longer but I am getting near the memory limit
on my PC and the tc-rtc deadline is nearly here..

Looks great! And all SDL too. Impressive.

Thanks Bill,

I did not get many of the suggestions I was given into the scene (would like to
have added a few more but time/memory were against me). However, if you look
carefully there are a few dandelion seeds flying by as was one of your
suggestions. There are actually 5 which I could see fine without the grass
switched on, when I ran the final render they largely disappeared into the
background. I can only see 1 clearly (as it was the closest to the camera which
makes it look too big to be realistic) and as I know roughly where they are I
can spot 3 of the others but the fourth even I cannot find.

Consider it a where's wally kind of challenge ;-)

Thanks, all SDL yes, the tree bark texture uses a couple of image maps and a
layer of procedural texture over the top, other than that one all the textures
are procedural as well.

I am not against modellers/image maps I just really like the fact that (almost)
an entire scene can be generated with a text file. It is the thing that
fascinated me the most about POV when I first discovered it.

Not sure this will be enough to beat your kitchen image though that is a great
scene.

What can I say? This is one of the best - if not the best -
POV-generated images I have seen in years. Congratulations! You have
really surpassed yourself even. The secret passage inside the tree is
neat. Well, /everything/ is neat :-)

This is going to be a new reference landmark for me.

I can see three with any certainty. Maybe one other...

Amazing - and all SDL too. Should be in the HoF.

Very well done indeed. If I can meet the deadline - the countdown clock is not
very precise this time - I will enter a second sandy pool surrounded by grass,
but I will never meet your accuracy in details. I hope you allow me to use your
moss at my lady.

Best regards,
Michael
