Hi all, I've been on hiatus for a while, but started POVing again by revisiting
this shot that I did last Christmas. Here is the final version, with somewhat
better looking (and faster rendering) media, along with properly colored glows
at the spotlight apexes.

I tried using media filled spheres for the glows, but they are slow to render
and I ran into the all-too-common media container boundary overlap artifacts.
For this final version I wrote a simple glow macro that uses a spherical
pigment_pattern as a transparency gradient for emissive color that is then
projected on billboards.

The scene file is available in p.t.s-f

Cheers,
Rob

Very nice work indeed. I am going to study your code for this. Never too
/young/ to learn ;-)

Thank you, sir :)

Here's a comp of all lighting possibilities, driven by 7 animation frames
(scene file also in p.t.s-f).

Frosty balls - not to be confused with blue balls.
