My first real SSLT scene, took about 3 days to render.

I am not completely happy with it yet, the wall either side of the steps needs
to be wet near the bottom and the snow has a dodgy line through it in several
places which I think is a mistake on my part with the texture.

Also, the snow needs to look more melted where it meets the ground.

Other than those 3 changes and another 3 days render time it is finished..

Sean

I think the thick snow itself looks superb!

Only the peaks and ridges look a bit too sharp to me.

Aside from the dodgy lines, the snow is incredibly realistic!

Thanks to everyone for the great comments, I think 90% of the credit for the
snow really needs to go to the pov team though as it is all down to the SSLT
feature.

Well worth the three days indeed! The snow looks incredibly real when
melting. As always, your textures are nearing perfection. The algal
growth on the stones is very realistic indeed.

I think that I have seen that door before ;-)

Agree, the snow itself aside from the grid lines looks really good as
well as the brick & walking stone textures. On seeing the image it did
hit me as a little odd there was not a little snow still on the flat
rock slabs given the ground distribution of snow is relatively even -
from a gentle snow fall.

Brilliant! It's so hot here in South Africa, I feel like I could eat that
snow ;)

I really like that door as well -how did you do it? Image maps or
procedural?
