A colour anaglyph viewable with red/cyan 3d glasses.

I like my chair at this distance. Up close I'll need to curve the back and seat.

The objects are meant to give a better sence of depth for door/windows at the
opening.

this looks very good. it's certainly raising the
photorealism bar for future anaglyphs ;)

Yes the chair was my favorite too.

Looking good.

I got a dumb (?) question: are you making theses anaglyphs usig an external tool
from two renders, or are you using an augmented pov-ray? There once was mention
of a method using MegaPOV and two virtual cams for producing anaglyphs in one
pass...

Thank you in advance and keep up the brilliant work

Karl

Yes.
I use 'Stereo Photo Maker', a dedicated program for working with stereo
pictures.

I like photorealism, but mostly it's something that POV-Ray just happens to give
me. Most of my interest is in the "shape of things".

Thanks for the info - alas, the program is not suitable for my mac ... ;-)

Doesn't matter, since I'm too busy with "RealLife" to do much raytracing at all
at the moment, but IF I ever find the time, I'll try that MegaPOV trick.

Happy tracing

Then, if RL permits, don't forget to try also the new mesh_camera
feature on 3.7: with distribution #2 you can get as output both images,
side by side. I didn't test it properly, but seemed to work: try the
file scenes/camera/mesh_camera as a starting point.

Thank you for the tip, Jaime - but my last info (though that might be out of
date) on 3.7 is, that there is no version for mac - and I honestly won't install
any VM-Software just to help beta-testing POV-Ray, sorry - IF I had time, I
would happily explore the (many) as yet untested (by me!) features of MegaPOV
....

Greetings
Karl

That info would be /very/ outdated :-)

Yvo Smellenberg does maintain an unofficial Mac port of 3.7 (with kind
permission from the POV team). See his post on povray.general from
2012-07-29 ("PovRay 3.7 RC6 Unofficial for Macintosh available").
