Been working on this scene off and on for awhile now - I finally think it's
done.

I originally wanted to duplicate M.C. Escher's "Hand with Reflecting Sphere"
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hand_with_Reflecting_Sphere), but got impatient
trying to model the furniture. Instead, I plopped him into a scene I made a few
years ago (with the addition of a checkered floor, of course).

Everything is handcoded CSG, other than the man (DAZ's Michael 3 character), the
trees, and the plant.

Cheers,

Rob.

Very very nice! I started work on a similar project a while ago with a robot in
place of the human figure. Your version is MUCH nice than anything I came up
with. Congratz.

Best Regards,
Mike C.

Nice concept :-)

Fitting to have him sitting at a computer.

Something seems to be wrong with the lighting of the ceiling. I'd expect
it to get darker closer to the wall and the shelves. Are you using
radiosity, or is that filler lights?

The shelves and books need more work. For instance, the big gray "code
complete" book seems just about to be toppling through a portal in the
shelf frame... The books also appear somewhat "flat".

And that guy doesn't seem to bother much about sorting his books...

You have two copies of 'Code Complete'...probably other duplicate books
in there, but the titles aren't as legible.

...make that three copies. Hmm... (maybe more, I suppose)

-- and, ok, because of the book -- are always source of inspiration for
geeks all over (I know you're a geek because of the books too).

But forget book repetition or radiosity issues: I'm more converned with
his wrist!

Well, it *is* a good book. There are only 25 unique book images (some scaled
beyond recognition) - so unfortunately, there will be lots of obvious
duplicates.

Rob.

Nice scene, very Escher-like, except for the wrist indeed!! You should do
some extra subdivisions on the mesh in Poseray.

Would be almost perfect for the cover of a magazine of sf...
