I was trying out the free version of Delftship, a program for modeling boat
hulls. At this stage I wasn't concerned about the correct scale. If I continue
with this picture, I think I'll look into the rope macro in the POV-Ray object
collection.

Ah! Good old Delftship! Been a while since I last used it and definitely
should return to it for some projects I have in mind. For the running
rigging the rope macro would be welcome indeed, while for the standing
rigging simple cylinders would be enough.

As for size, I'd say scaling the mannequin by a factor of 2 should come close.

Delftship--that looks like a very interesting program! (I hadn't heard of it
until now.) I have an idea for doing a scene with an old pirate vessel, and the
program looks to be ideal for it. (My attempts at freeform hull-building in
sPatch have been...questionable!)
BTW, love your peg-legged character--I didn't notice that at first.
