I've added some rudiments of buildings in the distance and I need to add some
lightpoles and do away with the area light overhead since it's artificial and
looks that way. Also, I need to add some ground equipment and some people
walking around to give it some of the grittiness that I felt when I was there.
Anyway, here's what I have so far:

Not bad!

I'd suggest that the Hercules be scaled up, they look far too small.

It's a satisfying thing so far. I always thought they would park those
things furthat apart though.

I was hoping that the smaller size of the Herky would help lend "distance" to
the image but you're correct....they ARE too small. Not big enough by half.
Good catch.

In the Combat areas ( Vietnam ) they DID park them differently ( revetments )
but in Thailand the Base Commander can do whatever strikes his fancy. They
were really parked this close together as I recall.

Unfortunatel, you cannot *fake* distance like that here as the planes are
too close together, and on a plane of reference (the tarmac). You can only
do that when there is no real point of reference, like planes in the air. I
have done that without anybody noticing :-)

Out of curiosity ... what's the benefit of that as opposed
to actually giving the plane more distance?

Generally there is no real benefit, except for showing moons or planets for
instance. And sometimes it is easier to place/scale an object closer than it
would be in reality, for instance if you do not take the trouble to check
the relative sizes between unrelated objects (just laziness).
