I have been revisiting some old scenes that I could not finish due to
hardware limitations. This one took about a day to render. Black spots are
probably due to exceeding max trace level.

Let's see - quite some reflective & refractive surfaces... if you used POV 3.6,
then yes, you're probably lucky that you didn't get more of them ;)

Hey Mike, yeah, looks very familiar. I know the tree and wood mannequin are.
Fish too, I think.

You must need a new computer... I could render this in only half a day! Then
again, I wouldn't bet on it.
:^)

I may have overdone it with the radiosity and photons. The original plan was
to only use radiosity and remove all the lights except the one in the next
room. Might still try it if I ever make a trip out of town for a week or so.
:)

Why? Does trace level implementation change in POV 3.7b?

Radiosity recursion depth implementation does; it used to be intermangled with
trace level in an unhealthy way in 3.6, causing stray dark (or even black)
splotches all over the scene - the more reflection and refraction, the more of
them.

I just might do that. Nice resource you found there.

Still, my goldfish has sentimental value as I made it out of blobs and
triangles back before I had any modelling software.
