Here's the image:

Basically, the whip is an icosahedron spinning and rotating about the origin
with the radius of the spiral oscillating a bit to get rid of some of that
"It's just a mathematical spiral" look. A "bridge piece" was needed to make the
coil connect up with the handle. Further developments and improvements are
welcomed.

Good work! Maybe you should scale down the faces (?) of the icosahedron a 
bit, to give it a more rope-like aspect.

the standard "shapes2.inc" file.
