always available upon request

Mike Sobers showed us a mapped wood grain pigment over in animations,
Thank you Mike!

set one of the normal bumps to 1 and got the streak

Chevrons intersected out of a bic lighter, the shape not the torch, and a prism.

Close enough

peace, ( and a way home )

Nice image.

I tried rendering a stargate a few years back, but didn't do a great job.

Your image looks much better!

Keep up the good work!

Here is my rendition of a stargate and DHD.

the stargate, Obelisks and DHD are done with CSG.

the sand is an isosurface converted to a mesh

thanks go to "CaffeineBill" for the pyramid and the original isosurface of the
sand. Thanks to Kevin Loney and Jaap Frank for the isosurface conversion
macros.
