I think you should work more on the textures of the wall. It doesn't
look realistic enough.

I'm impressed with the realistic look of the palm fronds. The individual leaves
appear to be meshes. Are they transformed in Pov-Ray to form the frond, or is
the entire frond a mesh?

I've tried for a while to figure out a way to rotate and scale individual leaf
meshes to form a frond but gave up and used a mesh for the entirety.

There was, however, an old IRTC entry, I believe by Marc Jacquier, that provided
a macro for such manipulations.

I left this picture on when going out. When going home the first thing
on my mind was "what a photo".
Don't scratch this.

I remember having done something like that :-)
http://www.irtc.org/ftp/pub/stills/2002-10-31/mj_atoll.jpg

File there : http://www.irtc.org/ftp/pub/stills/2002-10-31/mj_atoll.zip

Few months ago I wrote a new macro which generates mesh palms in a more
efficient and less memory consuming way
I'll look for the file as soon as I find the time (but I'm affraid it is
dirty and not very commented)

Marc

Not *that* is a nice scene! :-)

You know you've been raytracing too long when you stop working on a
scene even before you render it because you believe it is pointless to
make an image if there's no hope of it looking real.

Hi Marc,

please send me that file, too! I really like what I see (the palms, but also
the entire scene)!!!

Thanks,

Sven

The dhau could need some sail texture, but I like it, otherwise.

marc, are you able to make ship hulls?

Sven (again)
