Hello,

Since I have been out of the loop for so long..(sorry!! bad pun!) ;-)

Here is Yet Another Sphere Over Checkered plane image, albeit a highly
mutated variant which was obviously inspired by glowlits.pov by Chris Huff.

It only took a few minutes to write it, and I didn't properly adjust the
intensity of the glows adhered to the diagonal rods coming out of the floor,
but oh well.
I will fix this upon further iterations of the concept.

I had to post the image as a 1/2 size jpeg to avoid being an arse by posting
a ~4mb file here... ;-)
Full version here: http://www.gds-entropy.com/pixels/cylinderPlacement1_.bmp
1280x1024 3.75mb

Let me know what you think, and yes I know I'm as rusty as an iron gate...

ian

hmmm... reminds me of those fiber-optic light displays that were so popular in
the '70s.

Now that you mention it, it does sort of look that way.
I don't know if it will work, but I think I will try to make a section of
fiberoptic material now.

I quite like the image. It seemed to me like a "Fortress of Solitude" for evil
Kryptonians.

A very handy freeware program called Irfanview (easy to find via search
engine)has a feature that lets one easily change the quality/image-size
setting on a jpeg while saving. Most "full size" images can be cut down under
the 700k attachment size limit with only marginal change in image quality, at
least in terms of on screen display. It also has handy processing features
like gamma correction that can save a long re-render because an image needs to
be a little lighter or needs a little more contrast. I also recommend grabbing
the free plug-ins.

Best Regards,
Mike C.
