I couldn't decide if I wanted to work on something for CGSphere, something
for "History of Science" or an RSOCP. ... Still can't :-)

For any technical purists, I realize that the column holding the globe above
the base should be taller to prevent discharge to the motor. This is the
CGSphere version, for which sphere size and placement are fixed. I
experimented with tilting the whole scene so that a taller apparatus would
fit into the scene, but the rotation of 55 degrees that was required to fit
a correctly proportioned device into the frame produced rather extreme "top
down" or "bottom up" views that just I just didn't care for. If I do use it
in an actual "History of Science" entry (and I probably will), it will get
taller.

Regards,
Mike C.
