Okay, here it is with uv-mapping and somewhat improved anatomy. The texture
is basically just an image map with aoi that only changes the diffuse value.
100% Wings, GIMP, and MacMegaPov. What really helped was when I went
downstairs and figured out real whippets have a shorter snout and a big
dent down the middle of their face. The first one looked kinda weird and
creepy, but this one's actually starting to look like a whippet... like a
whippet that chews up your electronics and then wonders why you're not in
the mood to play...

Great job and incredibly fast...
Perhaps you can work a bit more with mapping to simulate the short hair of
the dog, but I know it is not easy. Long ago I tried to model a horse and
it was impossible both for modelling and mapping. Now I'm working in a
human's face (mine) http://personales.ya.com/robertoullan/

Te He :-)

That dog looks like it has a case of serious curiosity. Well done.

Brilliant! I've seen a few whippets close up and it's a good likeness.
Perhaps the head might be a little too big still. Not sure about that
though, as they seem different to me in various images on Google. (I don't
know, but perhaps due to different growth rates?)

Yours also has character with those eyes. Does your dog (sorry, bitch)
have that character too?

Yeah, the head may be a bit large. Probably depends on the age. As for the
real Zoey, she's not my dog but my roomate and his fiance treat her like a
princess. And she acts like one. Always has that puppy-dog look. What a
b****. (sorry, you started it.)

So I don't pollute the message board:

http://home.eng.iastate.edu/~rreusser/zoey.jpg (the real one)
http://home.eng.iastate.edu/~rreusser/zoey3.jpg (the fake one, online any
minute now)

As for the fake one, it's amazing what a little visual cue like white in the
eyes does for believability.
