I am reposting my first image under a new subject header.  I appears that
"My first image" is a frequently used title and using it again caused the
POVray server to place it back on a thread from 2005.

Anyway, here is my original post and the few replies from that thread:

Alain:  my scene already uses radiosity: Rad_Settings(Radiosity_IndoorHQ,
on, on) but your suggestion to increase the diffuse value was a great help.
 Setting it to 1 is too harsh but 0.4 is much better than my original 0.125
setting.

Stephen:  thank you for the Warp link.  I need to spend the weekend back at
the drawing board!

FYI, that's the reader that does that - your reader (ie, the web
interface) is probably configured to thread by subject as well as by
reference.

NNTP servers don't keep reference to subjects and thread that way - in
fact, they don't thread at all - they just provide pointers so the readers
can.

I like it, though I'd add a little color to the light, but I don't know if I
would add yellow or blue. Not that it needs it at all, just something I
would like to try.

Add color?  It is supposed to be a tribute to a Black and White photograph!

I am still tweeking the texture of the plane but maybe this week I will get
around to calling it "finished".  I will post the pov source and release
the "Lifesaver" object to the POV community to do with as they please.

yeah, i know, but like a slight hint of yellow light. very slight. maybe a
colored light isn't right, but the photograph is definitely more lively.
maybe it's contrast is just better. whites are whiter...

It looks like a binary message!  You could arrange the 1's and 0's to make a
secret message (anniversiary, your name, etc.)  Maybe you already did ...

Ok, so maybe it would be good to actually _read_ the original post first.
From top to bottom, I get:
