Hi again:

This is another image I'm working in. It is my personal vision of Hiroshima
bombing. The image represents how would have been seen from a village close
to Hiroshima. I'm waiting for your comments.

I think the atomic mushroom is much too dark... and I doubt whether in
such an early stage of a nuclear explosion would be any fallout, not to
mention that much!

Also, "Little Boy" detonated several hundred metres above the city, not
on the ground, so I'm not sure if there had been a "classical" mushroom
cloud at all...

See you in www.khyberspace.de !

Ok, you are right, my knowledge of history is quite small, sorry for that.

And talking about the artistic part, yes, the mushroom is not only quite
dark but quite horrible. I was thinking of doing some postproduction tricks
to get a good mushroom.

Yes there was one, it can be seen at the right of the page as photographed
from Enola Gay, I think

The "cloud" looks more like a solid object, rather than a cloud. (An
isosurface, maybe?)

Take a look in the documentation on media. Either you're not using media
at all, or you're not using it right. Media can slow the rendering way
down, but once you use it right it can create some fantastic effects.

Your buildings and trees are looking good. :-)

I have just found a file in PBI called "nuclear explosion" and sent on
08-03-3005. Thers are some source details in the followup messages.

You may want to have a look at it

I wonder if PoV-Ray will be around then Jim? ;)

And if so, what will it be like?

I like the composition of your image, it works well for me. However, I
have to agree with Mr. Tracy in that it does look like a solid cloud. It
kind of reminds me of a FarCry scene, and especially with the ladder against
the water butt(?) with the dwelling below...

I'd go with media for this one, and I think it will be worth it.

No doubt it will be, if the planet is still here anyways. Maybe it'll
have to hitch a lift off the planet....<g>

Real-time. ;)
