Here's some ice encrusted over a bracelet. It was rendered with POV-Sub.
Questions and comments are always welcome!

Wow, that's very pretty ice. It looks kind of like the bracelet is on the
ground and some ice has formed on the ground, but it's hard to tell.
So the -Sub stands for subdivision, so at least some of the objects are
meshes, right? I'm guessing the beads and the ice are meshes... am I right?

Thanks, Stefan.
Yeah, the bracelet and beads are are mesh objects, where as the ice
forming over them is a heightfield of the scene, the source image of
which was manipulated with the Gimp.

Interesting, looks very real. The background (floor part) doesn't look like
vomit silly! Just looks like a 1970's linolium :P

Well, I thought perhaps it would be interpreted that way :P

That's a good idea for doing ice, I'll have to play around with that
method a bit. Thanks :)

This is just the latest in a long line of impressive POV-images that you've
done. Is there someplace you've collected them together in a gallery? If
not, I hope you do at some point.

High praise! I'm not worthy!
I'm sorry about my late reply, but I was at my girlfriend's house for a
couple of days.
My girlfriend has made for me a MySpace profile, and placed a bunch of
my images there. Most of the 3-D stuff I made with POV-Ray, but some was
created in LightWave. There are also traditional works and some
Apophysis stuff as well. Here's the link:

Also, I have my own website where I've placed some images with some
comments. No POV stuff though :(

Hope you enjoy them!

Thanks, Ben. I'd like to see how you do with the technique.
On retrospect, I should have scaled the bracelet absolutely using min_
and max_extent, for I just scaled it by eye in this image, and I believe
a bead is poking through. Oops :D
