Dave,
My brother has two words for you: Home Depot. The people there can
supposedly give advice into how things like this are built (connectors,
cutting tools, etc.).
Looks like you have very little room for a kennel. Why not just let the
dog roam the yard between the fence and house? Just a thought :)

nice planning render.
You could put up a small fence at the 'front' of where you kennel sits.
You can even make it out of wood to match the existing fence.
A gate should be relatively easy to incorporate into the new fence.
Then the 4 boundaries of your kennel are new fence, house wall, old
fence, old fence.
