Nice, but shadows looks horrible.
Try to render this with area light.

And maybe some noise to the snow ;)

But generally it looks good, nice "magic" scene.

Woland,
  Thanks for the input.  I tried a 5x5 area light, but against the
isosurface snow, it looked horrible, creating square patches of slightly
differing colors.  I also tried to make the structure of the glass lamp
shadowless, but this didn't look good either.  Because I wanted to get it
done by Dec 25th (and the fact that with radiosity it took 17 hours to
render), I conceded to the above product.  Maybe next time I can experiment
more with the lighting.
