Hi Folks,

Another week, another scene!

Subtitle: 'Vicky ponders the perfection of the Golden Section ...' :-)

Bye for now,

Mike Andrews.

PS: On a technical note - the scene is pure radiosity, but I'm using a
modified set of sample directions in MegaPov to give a slightly different
effect.

Firstly this is a great image, and really shows how good radiosity can look.
When you say the scene is pure radiosity do you mean no light sources? How
are the flat light panels made.

Nice work..

Sean

Thanks very much. It's a concept that's been rattling around in my head for
a while, but I've only now been able to realise it.

No light sources at all. The lights are just high-ambient inserts in the
blocks. I'll post the source without the figure in p.b.s-f so you can see
:-)

I've altered the spread and distribution of the radiosity samples by using
the 'samples{}' block that MegaPov allows. You can get some fun effects
that way!

Thanks again. Maybe someday I'll get up to your standard ... maybe.

To me, that is just great. I want to walk over and touch Vicky on
the... shoulder! <eg>

She seems quite real apart from the dress... ?

Nice composure though, nice skin tan, etc.

Thanks for a great image. It's inspired me further.

Remarkable on every account. A staccato of surprises hidden into this
image. Everything is A+.

Thanks, it's always good to find out about new (well, new to me) techniques
other people use. The effect is very convincing I struggled (or rather my
PC did) to produce an effect similar to this using Megapov's glow feature.

As Wayne would say "I'm not worthy.." :-)

I love the image and it's special look.. and the spheres add lots of
interest!

I think youre on to something with the modified sample directions. Imagine a
patch to POV-Ray where you could use a different sample set for different
materials. Then you could have surfaces with varying degrees of glossiness
rendered with radiosity! It shouldn't be that difficult to implement such a
patch... :)

That's great Mike. I love seeing Poser figs rendered in Povray. :O)

Gah, I can't stop looking at this image. I did the same kind of thing with
my 'Pinball' image, (the repeating thing) but yours has so much more to it.
