While this image may vaguely remind some of a popular puzzle game (ahem), it
was actually intended to test my ability to place objects within a boundary
function (in this case a bozo pattern, which you can just see in some parts
of the image).

Nice image...
I would like to know how you did the texture on the plane... its not a
simple cells texture!

Thanks! The code is rather messy, but I can clean it up and post it. It
might be easier, however, to discuss a particular technique you wanted info
on.

Okay, I posted the scene files over in p.b.s-f. During the cleanup process,
the random generation changed slightly (which isn't surprising), and so the
resultant image you get from running the clean code differs slightly from
the original image. The new image is attached here, although it really
doesn't make any difference.
