What timing!  About 2 weeks ago I made this image, and put it on my list of
"I must do something with this sometime, but I have no idea what right
now."

I'm not sure if all the colors of mine add interest, or detract from
the image.  You have given me something to think about with it, I hope mine
does the same for you.

Have you read my bubbles tutorial?

There's a trick that can increase the rendering speed of bubbles by a
factor of about 60 if your slow method involves taking the difference of
a large number of bubble objects from inside a transparent container.

However, mine is mostly due to refelections, I think...

Yes, but if you're getting inefficient bounding, it slows down the
tracing of the reflected ray too.
