I've made some macros to make bicubic patch objects, and I chose a pipe to
test them on. The macros are not easy to use (but a little better than hand

are not easy to work with, either. I tried to make the image as close to
Magritte's as possible, but it's not perfect. Magritte is one of my
favourite artists, I hope he would forgive me for copying him.

Excellent work! Bicubic patches are fun (although nowadays I prefer
Wings-type meshes) and you did a great job here. The textures too are very
well done, in particular the bowl.

I would blacken the inside of bowl though. Even a brand new pipe is often
pre-burned in somewhat.

Magritte is a great inspirator!

Thanks a lot!

I did not know that, because I don't smoke. But then again, this is not a
pipe. :-)

He really is, where would we be without him.

Very nice. One of my favorites. The original of this is my wallpaper. My
only comment is that Magritte's text seems more connected somehow - perhaps
because of the texture of the paper, I don't know - but it does not look as
'floaty' as yours.

Ouch! You got me there :-)
Well, long, long ago, I smoked pipes, so I remember...

I really like the subtle colors of the bowl. A beautiful texture. Very well
done.
