Stefan, I have brushed the floor Picture with Photoshop (I'm using GIMP.
"Image Region" method)...

The stuff on the left looks like plastic.

The cobbled floor is excellent.

The stairs look perhaps slightly too shiny. Rest of the stonework looks 
just about spot on. That red colour looks out of place though...

Some gripes: the nearest column seems to cast 2 shadows, one of them broken... weird.
Is there 
another, unseen, column somewhere?
It may gains from area_light. Not so slow when using adaptive, you may get away with
adaptive 0. You 
can use prety dense aray, like 33*33, and still have good rendering speed.
It may also gain from radiosity.

Alain, there are not any mistake. I'm trying at work. The column is hiding
with other column.as the following image: (I was rendered this scene with
Yafray.)
