Thanks   No not an isosurface. I haven't learned how to use those yet.  It's
just a bunch of circles with tangent cones for the teardrops (stretched and
flattened of course).   In the single-color version I learned that you can
get the illusion of crystal without anything being transparent, with a neat
affect of having colored streaks if you leave max_trace_level low.  It may
be a simple scene, but I am learning something from  it.
