This is a rough test of a asteroid belt and I would like to know what the
POV-Ray community would think of it. This is my first post. The asteroids
are spheres with a deep agate shell. They are spread with random movement
an all 3 dimensions, followed by a rotate (one asteroid for every degree).
The background is a spotted color_map with white at the very peak.

Not bad, though the asteroids are a little smooth, I'd suggest using a
granite pattern instead.

Also, in the real world, asteroids are never that close together, but I
wouldn't worry about that. The real world is boring :)

Shame on you.. If it had been a "Reflective asteroid field of a checkered
planet"
I wouldn't have said anything.. ;)

Here's the same with a granite normal. I think it looks much better. By the
way, the color is a spotted mix of Copper and LightWood.
