This is my first post here, and although it's not the obligatory reflective
sphere on a checkered plane, I figured I'd give it a shot. It's a friend
of mine's birthday, so I made her some flowers.

The roses are (sadly) not my model, but freely available at
http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/FreeStuff/FreeModels/FModelPages/PoserRose.html
It took partially transparent petals filled with scattering media to make
them look right, not to mention radiosity and area_lights. I know there are
a couple intersections with the floor, but I just didn't have the time or
patience to try to edit the model meshes to fix that. Constructive
criticism would be appreciated.

There is a larger verison (1280x960) of this image available at

I suppose it would help to actually attach the image. Here goes nothing...

Great work on the petals! The intersections with the floor that you
mentioned are not noticable. Just one question: where are the thorns?

Getting the pink to follow the edge like that is a cool trick.
