My first post in ages.  I had never tried rendering with photons, radiosity,
and media at once.  I have a lot left to learn but pleased with my first
real try at using these advanced features.  Hope you are too.  Render time:
3 days 11 hours on 2.1 G Athlon, but no real benchmark I was playing DVDs,
surfing, etc.

      Dispersion! I love dispersion!

The light spots on the ground really look good.
Must have been difficult to balance the lighning. The constrast is really
high. I have never dared to do such a long rendering. I always fear that my
processor will go up in flames.

BTW: What / where is Alden, is this a place?

Yeah, that's pretty damned nice.  Love the concept and the outcome.  Not 
sure I am willing to dredge up the words for what I think at the moment, 
but this is a tremendously promising direction imho.  It's as if the 
metaphors for describing light have come to life.  Like it has become a 
palpable, liquid thing.  There is the appeal of a star field but in a 
context more capable of surprise...

Realy great!
I'm not sure that the radiosity contributed much more than increase the render time. A
mostly 
transparent object on a, aparently, flat surface.
Love all the sparckles.

Actually Alden is my best friend - he was the one who suggested I max out
the machine just to see if it would blow up.  No problems, just slow.  We
watched all three Lord of the Rings movies and surfed while it was
rendering.  Thanks HP for such a stable machine.  Time for a dual core
Athlon 64 I guess.  Radiosity DID enhance this, albeit I just put the
slightest touch in.

Thankx for the encouragement.  I did a lot of thumbnail renders and tweaking
before I had the guts to try this.  On my first try we had a major
thunderstorm and the power went down for two hours.  Oh well, I re-wrote
the code.  Whittled three days off the render :0)

I DID need radiosity.  It did the anti-alias, and rather well.
