So I threw this together last night befor going to bed (PST) and let it
render over night. There's a couple details that I'd like to clean/fix up
but where I'd like suggestions mainly is on the explosion/crater/smoke.
Obviously with the objects flying around the explosion was supposed to
happen recently, in which case I don't think there would be a smoldering
crater there yet. Either way, any comments/recommendations are
appreciated.

Hi Mienai,

Cool idea! A possible IRTC entry, isn't it?

IMHO on your image, with objects flying around like that, the explosion is
*just* taking place, so the crater (which looks too regular) should not be
smoldering like that yet, but you should see the flame of the explosion
instead, plus some smoke. You might try an image search with 'explosion' on
www.google.com to see how it should look like.

(Sorry, I have no experience in modelling explosions in POV , I can just
suggest to use emitting media for the flames but I can't help you more...)

In addition to my previous message: I did a google search with 'mine
explosion', it seems there is not so much flame visible with real mine
explosions, it is mostly projected debris...

Very cool, but the first thing I looked for was the "Oh CRAP!" face on

Very nice. This theme keeps reminding me of the image Mad Hatter is
currently working on for the IRTC.
