Fantastic! I really like the people and the trees!
If this is going to offend you, then sorry, but I was wondering if you could
post the source for the trees and the people (or at least a few hints on
how to do them). it would be fantastic if I could render some people and
some REALLY organic looking trees (I'm not doing too well at getting them
myself.
Thanks!!

Hi ghost_dog! No, I don't mind passing along the source and have attached
it. But this effort is nothing really special... the people use Blobman,
the trees are from TOMTREE.inc (OLIVE.inc), and the city is from city.inc
.... all stuff that has been around a long time for the Pov Ray community.
.... the only weird thing about any of this is the result after being
filtered through my warped sense of imagination. ;-)

How do you learn Pov Ray (and I am still very much in a learning process)?
Glom onto all the includes, macros, and so forth you can find. Create stuff
with them. I learns by doing.

Am I getting better? Well, the IRTC is not banging on my door yet, but I'm
having fun.

Best,

--Ralph

Yes, you must be getting better. IMHO, If you are pushing yourself to the
limits of you're knowledge of POV, then you are learning. If you are
learning, you are improving!!!

About Blobman: Duh???? What's Blobman? Where can I get it? (excuse my
ignorance - I'm only 9/10 months experienced in POV.)
About TOMTREE.inc (Olive.inc??) again, excuse the ignorance, but is it
possible you could mail these to my public e-mail (or post them) if they
are not too large
(apologies for my apparent laziness - actually, I only get access to heavily
restricted internet thru the school and it blocks DLs if it spots them).

many thanks!

     Try downloading Blobman from here:
http://objects.povworld.org/cat/Nature/Humans/

It's only 484kb's, so you might get away with it.

Try downloading the .zip of Gena Obukhov's Java PoVTree here:
http://freshmeat.net/projects/povtree/?branch_id=40095&release_id=173874
It's fantastic!! :)

Again, you might get away with it as it's a small download,
(896kb's), but if not, get yourself a CD-RW and head for an internet
cafe... (if that's possible). That's what I would do. ;)

   PoV on.

Tried those links and tried my own methods.
No luck.
Thanks for the help anyway, though.
I managed to get a few includes, i.e TOMTREE and a few other tree macros.
If you get a chance, could you please read my 'Help with still water
effects' Post. I tried the isosurface (You'll get it when you read it.) but
the renders were too long. (P150 + isosurface = 10hr render) Maybe a blob.
If you recommend macros, then walk me through carefully. I'm no good with
anything beginning with # (except #include of course!). I'll post a few
results later.
