Trying to get an attractive woman out of pure povray code. Modeled this
one a bit after the most beautiful woman in Germany, ala
http://www.uni-regensburg.de/Fakultaeten/phil_Fak_II/Psychologie/Psy_II/beautycheck/english/prototypen/prototypen.htm
I suppose as the comments get less cruel, I may be getting closer to a
credible love interest for the Man from M.I.M.E. ;-)

Hi Greg,
The first time I looked at her, she looked a bit angry to me. I think it is
caused by the lack of lips, and the strange shape of the eyebrows.
To fin more flaws, I had a look at the website and checked the list of good
characteristics with your character.
Characteristic features of the female "sexy face" in comparison to POV.
Ideal POV
a.. Suntanned skin skin is to light, needs
more color
b.. Narrower facial shape forehead seems to be to wide,
and has a big rectangle in it.
c.. Less fat doesn't look to fat
d.. Fuller lips no lips at all :-)
e.. Slightly bigger distance of eyes can't realy say
f.. Darker, narrower eye brows the eyebrows are narrow, but they
are very straigt, with an sharp corner in the middle (should be more to the
side)
g.. More, longer and darker lashes no lashes (or not visible)
h.. Higher cheek bones they are at the "correct"
place
i.. Narrower nose nose looks to long, it
needs to fade away in the forehead at a lower point (is hard to do i guess)
j.. No eye rings can't say
k.. Thinner lids hard to tell without
eyelashes
I hope these comments help you making progress in this wonderfull project. A
lot of work has been done to get this far, but i figure a lot more work is
needed to get a realy beutifull women out of a computer.
Good luck with it,
greetings,
JWV

Thanks for the comments all and the checklist.
The really funny thing about my algorithm is that it's **really** hard to
have lips. A man with "no lips" can be credibly attractive, but a woman
without them is perhaps rightly called a "mutant."
Most of the front of the head is a stack of blobbed spheres, the bottom half
of which are able to rotate like an opening jaw. Then I cut a hole in the
stack in the shape of a mouth I want. Getting actual lips in the shape of
the mouth hole was a programming feat I attempted a few times and the
result was, well, mutated-looking.
keep on tracin',
Greg

Nice blobs. err... *cough* ahem.
I think the forehead and "smile" give her a slightly Klingon look. But I have
also tried (and failed) to do a face with blobs, you are light years ahead of
me. I shouldn't complain.

Thanks for the tips.
Announcing: the first working lipstick algorithm in povray!? (perhaps not,
but a big technical achievement for this code given my brains).

This is much better. The lips and improved eyebrows and hair makes a big
difference. Her skin is rather gray in this version though. Try to make it a
bit more saturated while still keeping it darker than in the previous
version.
The thing that is most distracting now is IMO the shoulders. Perhaps it is
possible to tone them down?

this looks much better, good job!
But still, improvements can de made. I attached an image to show the good
points and the challenges.
It's and comparison between the "ideal" face and the POV face.
Greetings,

Is the ideal your girlfirend ?
if yes : what does she thinks about the comparison ?
if not : very nice model ;-)

She looks angry. Is she supposed to be?
