Here is my first post, a variation of the customary chrome sphere on a
checkered plane. It's really a chrome type ball on a sheet of green bar
paper on a checkered plane. If Povray existed 30 years ago this is how you
would program it. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

If I remember well, the rotoball should be much duller. At least, the
one from the IBM my mother once rented was realy dull... back in the '70s

I know the real type balls were rather dull, but to fill in for a chrome
sphere I just had to make it shiny. Just a little artistic license.

Not that much duller If Memory Serves Me Well. When new, some were quite
animated slide rule.
BTW Nice image, evocative of times past.
