Here is my future entry for the Marsh/April IRTC :
http://povwip.tuxfamily.org/img/Hall6.PNG20030313091409.png
As you can see, it is just a w.i.p, so I must improve on textures and add
somme element to fill the Hall... So can somebody tell me what are the
possibilities ? You comments, Suggestions are welcome. THX.

Definitely missing area light and radiosity!

Are you sure ? Radiosity is ON, but off course, no area_light was switched,
it's just a w.i.p. So I can't wait 2hours between renders to improve, so I
switched off the A_L ... Thx for suggestions !

If radiosity is on, you need to either up the recursion_limit to 2 or 3, or
change other parameters to add more light into the shadows

Ok, but I must finish the modeling before make images thats took 2 days to
render ;-)
But the radiosity I use here was the "Fast" preset I've found in rad_def.inc
so I'll use the "Final" one when I'll finish the modeling... For the
area_light, I work on it...

It looks really good. The only suggestion I can think of, I'd like to see
outside or more architecture where the blank wall now is, below the
circletop/sunburst window.

I think it looks very good! Very solid.
The room could be used for an exhibition, ball game, living room (though
unconventional), machinery park, or a dusty, empty and spooky hall.

Hugo

If radiosity is on, make sure ALL ambient values for all textures are set
to 0 (unless you're trying to create a glowing object).
