Hello, all.

Well, it's only taken me two and half years, but I've finally got round to
giving my robot some hands.

Looks like he itching to be let loose in off-topic. ;)

I plan to release the source code for him soon(ish) - if anyone wants it
that is.

Bye,
Alan.

Woohoo! That screams for an animation (especially if off-topic is to be
the backdrop)!

I, for one, would *love* to see the code.

Looks great!
What is the render time?
I second Remco, this would make a good animation.

NOTE:
This is my first post from Linux (KNode), is everything looking ok?

Who needs thumbs when you've got magnets? :)

Seriously, I've not done them yet. But judging by how long its taken me to do
the fingers I'd say you be best checking back sometime around, ooooh, 2008.

Hi Greg,

The robot is all CSG, with squashed, stretched and generally mangled primitives
for the rest.

The guns (for which I had to do some research into the truly frightening world
of armament websites) are part of Questor's Modern Firearms collection in DAZ's
free archive. Used PoseRay 2.6.6.202 to convert them to POV meshes and then
tweaked the textures for that cheapo plastic look.

The posing system is all FK, by the way. I'm not clever enough to implement an
IK system. The way the robot has been 'rigged' could allow for one to be
slotted in, so if anyone wants to try when I release the code (soon-ish!),
please do.
