Sorry, couldn't resist the temptation.
It's an experiment in two things. First of all, rendering ceramics
(whoever said anyone ever plays with these balls, it's just a showcase
set :) ) and second, checking whether focal blur really puts hex
numbers to good use (blur_samples 91 in this case).
The balls look ceramic enough to me, I think. As of the focal blur, it
was a failure.
The scene initially also included radiosity and an area light, but I
gave it up and went for focal blur only instead.
Comments are welcome.

I mean the graininess. As it was a china (not ceramics, wrong word)
test, some transparency is indeed desired. Just not too much.

use variance 0
Every value above 0 will give you that kind of graininess
Nice image btw, but I don't believe that font is correct :))

variance was 1e-6, confidence was 1-1e-6, I thought it would be
enough.

10x... and the font is just good ol' Times bold.

10 = ten => 10x = tenx, which almost sounds like thanks.
So it's "thanks", just faster to write :)

Yeah, but look at the red ball, you can see right through it. The black?
striped one on the right as well, but not as much.
