This one with color is vivid, adds a lot to the model compared with all
grays. I guess that's a testament to what texturing is all about. ;-)

I don't see any way for people to get into the place, seems to be missing
steps. And I must ask this... the arcs of the central dome aren't evenly
spaced. Was that intentional?

Also, while I was looking it over I realized that the ground where the
corners are at happens to be brighter than along the walls. Just the
opposite of what I'd expect. I don't know how it should look. I'd need to
check outside in the daytime on a cloudy day.

It's exactly what I would expect if the walls just reflect a little bit of
light.

It needs something else to give a sense of scale. To me it looks like a
model of a church that's about two feet across.

Although you probably had already planned that.

Oh yeah, and like another guy said. Where's the entrance?

Maybe some trees?

To answer all:
The church is a Leonardo Da Vinci's project.
It pretends to be a scale model of the church for a scene
I'm planing to do for the IRTC.
Model is not an exact copy. It has some differences from
the original.
Da Vinci link is at (italian only):
www.museoscienza.org\leonardo\chiesapiantacentrale.html

Any suggestion is welcome.

Other answers:
Hughes,b:

Yes, look at the original model.

Must be a radiosity effect.

As it's a scale model, maybe I have obtained the desired effect ;-)

> Oh yeah, and like another guy said. Where's the entrance?

There are four entrances in the bottom of the little front towers.
(the red differenced box)
Maybe I shoud define it a little bit more.

Nice modelling. I prefer the all gray version.
